    Where's Diana?

Has anyone talked to, or seen Di in the past couple of days?

    Unhappy still eating for two

Okay ladies. I'm right here. No, I didn't run off to find Homes.

I sent Rebecca a private mssg in response to hers on Wednesday maybe, but I'll admit I do find that feature to be "touchy" so I'm not shocked she probably didn't get it. (Sorry Almighty Creator). I know, I know it's the user...

NO BABY yet!!! My due date is Sunday. I won't tell the world all the stats and signs of labor I am showing...suffice to say...all systems GO!

I'll admit, I haven't felt much like posting, but do check in to see what's up. Just not in the mood to sit, stand or lay down long enough to accomplish much of anything.

I felt a lot better with my daughter four years ago...and worse with my son before that. This must be a boy.

My eyes aren't doing so well now, which has become rather a sore spot. I worrried about that. To be fair, they haven't "done well" in years, but I managed just a little better this pregnancy. Serum drops are probably helping, but perhaps hormone fluxuation is now wreaking havok. I just don't know. Too much burning.

So, I wish you all could see me. I appear ready to bust. Instead of being in a great mood about the baby I'd been wanting since before my LASIK disaster, I'm rather a grump. Still, we are excited around here. We were just hoping to avoid an induction after a due date - which is Sunday. Kinda funny that for my last two pregnancies I was at risk for preterm labor.

Oh, yeah, and I downloaded a registration/brochure last night for the Wellness Seminar. Better get that done and in this week so I don't forget about it. I have my room. Anybody wanna share with me and my hungry, night-feeding infant?! Lucy, that sounds just like your thing.

Well thanks for the concern. Now ya know. I promise I'll keep you posted as to my condition and the baby's arrival. This pregnancy is truly something I never thought I'd manage since my LASIK tragedy. You all have everything to do with the fact that I finally found myself managing physically and mentally enough to pull this off. There were dark times for me in dealing with these eyes and I've always managed to pull myself out. But I certainly didn't do it alone.

    Wish me luck!

    Diana

  4. Thanks for the update Diana. I've been pacing the floor wondering about you. Better not room with Aunt Lucy...that vibrating face massager or the huge gel pack of hers might scare the kid to death.

I was thinking the reverse would happen somehow. Screaming kid...Lucy loses her mind and decides dry eye isn't so bad after all.

Then there's that small detail about my husband being there also...and the back waxing we have him scheduled for.

You guys are cracking me up

Oh Diana--you sound close! My stepdaughter's (I call her my bonus daughter) due date came and went and she was so crabby that we sent her in for a pregnancy massage. She went into labor during the massage (think punctal plug, but drop the punctal word). So then she was miffed that she didn't get her whole massage!

I just got the happy news that my firstborn daughter is preggers. Babies are such a gift and I'm so happy I could just spit. They are moving to Singapore in February for a year, so I'm trying to figure out how to be her labor coach and support from mucho thousands of miles away. At least I'm a teacher so I will have the summer off (she's due early July). She and I are very close so we've both got some challenges ahead.

If I was going to the retreat, I would totally room in and help out with the little one, although I think I would pass on the back waxing.

I've been on the computer a lot this week typing individualized education plans for my special needs students and my eyes ARE KILLING ME along with being the Goddess of the Hot Flashes. Yep, Diana, hormones are just fabulous!

Hang in there--sometimes what makes you happiest can make you feel the crappiest. Love and good thoughts coming your way...

    Today is the day-------

Diana, this is the day I was telling you about. You'll be in the hospital soon. Aren't you supposed to be going on a house cleaning rage about now? I always hear how women "got this burst of energy."

I must say it's been so long for me, I don't remember a burst of energy or not. I can say I don't mess around. When I have a due date, I respond accordingly. That's right. Only happens 5% of the time. Now go........
We could have started a pool about this awhile ago--what was I thinking?

    Is this in cyber greenbacks?

PS. I was supposed to go on an overnight trip to Mt. Pleasant, but the weather made me cancel. I'm just ready for wagering. Jeff-cut it out.
For those reading this and now "knowing", Mt. Pleasant=casino.

Geez, Lucy, you're right! You did tell me to hang in there until Dec. 2. I told you no thanks if I recall. Now it's 8:30 pm on the 2nd and I'm still home waiting for some action.

Cindy, you're cracking me up. You've got the men of your household weighing in on my, well, excess weight. How funny. I like your 8 am. My new favorite prediction will be the earliest one to "NOW!" Boy, I'm really complaining, aren't I? It's not as though I'm not grateful, but one does hit a wall...

I'm enjoying the interest and the predictions. If you ever get around to discussing the baby's weight, I'd aim high. The belly's pretty big this time.

Luc, sorry you didn't get to the casinos. Isn't there some online gambling or something you could get addicted to?

My son would like to click on a smiley or two of his choice, so I'll let him do it. I'll be in touch...

    dianat,

My cats Greystoke, Keystroke, and Holy Smoke have asked me to tell you -- in case you didn't already know -- that whereas in the dog world, a lady canine is typically known as a b*tch , in the cat world, a pregnant or nursing lady feline is known as a QUEEN!

Wishing you a happy and speedy transition from Pregnant Queen to New Momma Queen,

Never, never, never. I don't go near online sites for gambling. I want the real thing, kajing, kajing. In other words, I need to lose my money by getting my hands dirty. Fortunately, I live within a few hours (3 or less) of 10 casinos, give or take. I like talking about it, more than actually going. You know, the anticipation is part of the fun.

Okay then, Lucy. I just figure we all need vices of some kind. I understand having more fun at a casino in the flesh (except for the smoke and the eyes). I like the sounds those slots make. There's just something about it...

Thanks Mary and felines for the kind wishes. I'd like to consider myself the "queen *****" if that's okay. I'd say that describes me nicely...at least these days. I did not know of the term "queen" in terms of cats. Very interesting.

Halfmoonbaygal, I can see you take grandparenthood very seriously as my parents do. It's rather their obsession. Congrats on your daughter's pregnancy! I cannot imagine the distance you will need to cover to be part of the process, but you'll manage. And what a story it will make! Singapore...wow! I can only assume military hospital. Thanks for the good vibes. I can feel 'em. Would like them to translate to nice strong contractions, however!

    I'll be in touch...

Since you didn't have the child when I told you to, I'll have to get into the pool and take Sunday. What's with the noonish thing? I have 5 cyber-bucks on Dec. 5th. Time..........9 am. or then again...........

PS. I think Mary will be a good sitter while in Tampa if you have the need.

Hey, Lucy! I live 10 minutes from the nearest casino. And 45 minutes away from two others. Eat your heart out.
Wasted on me, though. I never go.

No need to eat my heart out. I can get to the closest riverboat towards Chicago in 75 minutes. In fact, I kind of like it that way. I can't "just go to the store" and decide to hit the casino instead. This keeps my anticipation level up, so I really enjoy it when I go.

I live in MI and am within 3 hours of casinos in MI, IN, IL, Windsor ONT. That's close enough. In the winter (now) we usually go to the riverboats in IN, IL. Closer in case of a snow storm. Geez, one could go to one in MI and get snowed in for days.

  22. Okay, Diana. This is what I did for you tonight: I ate chinese and ran around the bed three times. This is supposed to induce labor for a loved one. Hope it works. I enjoyed the egg roll .

    What's the hurry?

When I was waiting for my third to make her appearance, my mom said "Dear, what's the hurry? They are so much easier to take care of in there than out here." Small comfort. Very small comfort. She was right, however.

I hope you're able to get some rest. And all of this wagering--it's all going to Diana, right???

Cindy, the hubby and I are laughing out loud. I've never heard of the Chinese food/bed run. But, I think I've heard it all now! If it works you'll get a big hug when I see you in Tampa.

HMBG, I recall my OB saying 8 years ago when I was heavy with my son that, "Your baby's a lot safer in there than out here." I really pondered that for a while. It's kinda similar to your mom's comment. I still want it out. I've been peeing on myself all week.

I've heard of people being tied behind a car and have to keep up with the car running to "induce" labor. Have you tried that one? It is kind of cold, though, for that.

    Now...........head off to the hospital.

Tie myself behind a car?!?! Is that what they do in Michigan? Here in Ohio were just a bit more civilized...it's called induction. There's a little knitting hook used to break the water...add a bit of pitocin... It's not my favorite thing, but I managed through it twice already. Surely it's more humane than running behind a moving car! Nope, I won't try it.

Why, Diana, we have lots of snow and more coming. It would be a slide rather than a run. I know about Ohio. I have cousins in Newark (or Nerk as they call it). A bunch of ruffians they are.

Jimminy Cricket...after the chinese food run and the opportunity to tie yourself behind a car I thought we might hear baby news by the time I signed on tonight. I think just Holiday decorating alone would do it... Hope you have a warm fuzzy bathrobe and slippers all packed for the hospital if its as cold in Ohio as here. Thinking of you and cant wait to hear the news of the bambino. Peggy

Okay, I see what you think of Ohioans now. Your "Nerk" cousins probably belong where they are, but not necessarily here in 'Nati. Incidentally, you get WAY more snow than we do here. We have a little ice here, but we don't often get much in the way of accumulated snow. School gets cancelled when we see as little as 2-3 inches.

If I would like to have my husband arrested this evening, I'll make him drag me behind the car in the name of inducing labor. As it stands, I agreed a few years back to stay home to raise our kids, so I kinda need him to be available to bring home the bacon and ya know, support us in that general "man of the house" sort of way. So, jail time is not a reasonable option no matter how bad I feel.

So, I love you for your thoughtfulness, but if you'd just go ahead and eat some Chinese food and run around your bed three times, it would be very much appreciated.
