Hello, I am Dr. Michael Lange from Central Florida area. I am a Board Certififed Optometric Physician in practice since 1992.

I am the founder of Lange Eye Care and Associates and The Lange Eye Institute, We have seven offices in Gainesville, Ocala, Summerfield and The Villages plus new locations in Inverness and Clearwater, with nine ODs, one DO, and 3 MDs on staff. Our practices offer routine eye exams, contact lens, Ocular disease (heavy emphasis on dry eye, macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma), all eye surgeries and cosmetic facial surgeries, low vision/vision hehabilitation, vision therapy/pediatric eye care, and a very heavy emphasis on nutritional intervention!! I have also hosted six live talk shows weekly called "ask the doctor" on multiple radio stations and on the internet for the last 15 years. I am a clinical investigator for some of the large eyecare companies, sit on many advisory boards, and see patients six to seven days a week.

I am also the chairman of Fortifeye Vitamins a nutraceutical company involved in eye and whole body nutrition. I am involved in some very exciting nutritional studies using intracellular blood tests to determine absorption and bioavailability of specific vitamins, minerals, amino acids etc.... I don't just recommend specific vitamins to patients but life style changes, nutritional intervention via foods and supplements and specific types of exercise. And of course we do use traditional medical therapy as well.

This is truly a passion of mine to be able to help patients improve not only their visual health but also their whole body health. Remember the Eye is the window to the body.

Dr. Michael P. Lange, founder of Lange Eye care and Associates and The Lange Eye Institute has just passed boards achieving the designation of Certified Nutrition Specialist , (C.N.S.), from the American College of Nutrition. This makes Dr. Lange one of only three in the Optometric profession to become a certified nutritional specialist.

Dr. Lange states "This brings more credibility to what we have been offering our patients for many years in nutritional eye care and preventative medicine. We are involved in many nutritional studies that are bringing nutritional science into eyecare."

Dr. Lange is also Chairman of the Board of Fortifeye Vitamins where he uses his knowledge in nutrition to develop science based nutraceuticals for the eyecare industry. Dr. Lange hosts a talk show on nutrition and eye care called "ask the doctor", on eight different radio stations from Tampa Bay to south Georgia since 1993 and travels almost two months out of the year promoting science based nutrition to eyecare providers from all over the world.
