READ ME: Forum Guidelines
Forum Moderation (your posts will not appear immediately)
This is an actively moderated forum, meaning that member posts are sent to a moderation queue and will not appear until after they are reviewed - typically within 24-48 hours of posting. The Moderator (yes that's me) reserves the right to modify posts for compliance with rules and guidelines. Submitting a question does not guarantee that it will be posted - but we'll do our best. If your post does not appear immediately, please don't take it personally, and PLEASE DON'T KEEP POSTING OVER AND OVER. Wait for your original post to appear.
USER TIP: Keep a copy of your post/question in case for any reason your question is not posted, or is not posted in its entirety.
Some Important Rules for Participation
Please make sure you also read our Dry Eye Talk guidelines. These rules are subject to change over time as this forum evolves so please check back now and then.
1. BE RESPECTFUL AND COURTEOUS AT ALL TIMES. A little gratitude goes a long ways, too.
2. If you are a patient of any doctor participating in this forum, do not post to that doctor. Communicate with him/her privately.
3. Do not post here looking for a diagnosis. Nobody can diagnose you over the internet, no matter how much information you give them. No Dry Eye Talk forums - including this one - should ever be used as a shortcut to avoid a visit to the doctor. Instead, post questions to get information that will help equip you for a really effective visit to your doctor.
Guidelines
These are my suggestions for how we can make efficient use of participating doctors' time and show due consideration for all participants (and your Moderator).
- One question at a time. Please, no laundry lists. There's always tomorrow or next week.
- Keep it brief. Long posts are burdensome and likely to be ignored.
- Read the archives. If the question has been asked recently, no point asking it again today.
- Don't monopolize. You are one of many members who may want to consult participants here, so be sparing in your use of expert volunteers here.
- It's OK to engage in discussion in this forum (i.e. post in a thread started by someone else) but it's NOT okay to hijack another's thread. If you want to follow up on someone else's thread and go off on a tangent, start a new thread and link to the other one. If you don't know how, click here and follow the instructions.
Enjoy!
