Hello!! Does anybody know of a really good doctor that can diagnose/treat dry eyes in the Seattle, WA or greater Puget Sound region? Thanks!

I go to an optometrist in Lynnwood. He is a generalist but has lots of years of experience dealing with DES. It would be a place to start. Alderwood Vision Clinic, Joe Pfeiffer, OD. Rebecca may have some other names for you. There was an ophthalmologist in Kirkland who was highly recommended but he is only doing cosmetic eye procedures now, as far as I know. I'm sure Rebecca will remember his name. You could call his office and ask for a referral. If you decide to see Dr. Pfeiffer, please PM me, I will give you my name as a referral source.
Every day with DES is like a box of chocolates...You never know what you're going to get.

    Rebecca,

This is who I am already seeing so I was hoping to get some new ideas. It would be great to see a Dr. who specializes in this and who even has DES.

    Any thoughts?

The doc I was thinking about in Kirkland is Steven Laukaitis, MD. You can google him, call his office and see if he can recommend anyone. Please let me know if you come up with any names!

I'm sorry, I wish I had a recommendation but I don't even have a local doc myself yet and have not really managed to make time to track down the specialists in our area since moving here. I was given some names by the Sjogrens group last year and I'll post some of those here as possibilities to at least check out. Incidentally, I was impressed with how many people in the Sjogrens support group were happy with their doctors.

Matthew Oliva MD. Does serum tears, among other things. One patient highly recommended.

Thomas Gillette MD. Mixed feedback, one patient said he keeps current on Sjogrens.

    Scot Brower MD (Kirkland).

    Scott Gold MD (Seattle)

    Brian McKillop (Seattle)

Richard Bowe, John Goodin, Joseph Pham (Tacoma)
