    Unhappy new plugs

I had plugs put in 2 years or so ago. Each pair worked instantly, and like magic, and seemed to help for a few weeks and then stopped working, even thoughk, when checked, they were still there.
My new eye dr.saw that I hadjust one plug in. He took it out, and just put it 4 plugs at once, (smartplugs) I signed a waiver about how I might have too many tears. I was so excited, but so far I have had no improvement. I am so disappointed that I didn't get even those few weeks of relief.

don't read on if you're grossed out easily, but last night was the first night I slept well because I didn't have a dry mouth. Turned out the socket of my just-removed tooth was still bleeding slightly and giving me dry mouth relief. It's come to this!
Thanks for listening, this site means a lot to me, esp on my more hopeless days.

Elaine, it took me a couple of weeks after adding the upper plugs before I noted some improvement. I wasn't cured, but I was using drops much less and tolerating the computer much better. I had about two good weeks after that. I have dissolvable plugs in the uppers, so your experience most likely will be different. Give it some time.

Chocolate? Hmmm.... Would anyone care to join me in a research study regarding the effects of chocolate on DES? Guess we could do 4 groups: White, dark, milk and carob (for placebo). I think I will opt for the dark.

    Elaine,
Do you have Sjogren's Syndrome? I'm sorry if I missed the post where you mentioned it.

Of course it helps. You should believe her. Going into a smoky casino helps my dry eyes, too. Proper Panoptx goggles in place - and I do just fine. Lifts the spirits, lightens my pocketbook.
