Dry Eye Patient
Hello,
I only had two onset of dry eyes episode so far and each time I noticed a sudden increase in myopia each time. For example a whole year whitout any onset of eye dryness my myopia only progressed of 0.25 (-4,30 in 2010, -4,55 in 2011), but when I have have dry eyes problems this dramatically and suddenly increase in a short amount of time.
Is that the same for everybody?

Have you seen an ophthalmologist lately? I would urge you to see one soon to have an accurate diagnosis. Blurred vision is common with dry eyes, but this amount of myopic shift does not sound typical.
If you google "ocular inflammation and myopic shift," you will find many medical journal articles that discuss the possible reasons for this. There are many possibilities, from medication side effects to ocular disorders and even autoimmune diseases.
I don't mean to scare you, but please go see a doctor to determine if this is a more serious condition.

Oh I also noticed that my pupils have never the same size since October 2011, my left eye pupil is always bigger than the right eye pupil. Before that they where always equal, no matter which size they would take. Why is that?Originally Posted by Scout
Also, I already saw an Ophtalmologist in December 2011 and told her that since October 2011 my myopia progressed drastically as soon as I got eye irritation/dryness problem and she didn't even answer but instead told me to come back in June 2012 to make new prescription glasslenses.
I won't be seeing a new Ophtalmologist for another 25 days.

Search 'iritis'. Many of us have travelled to get a thorough diagnosis and advice from the best doctors and their teams doing current research, and it has been expensive but worth it. Then, with a better diagnosis, we use ophthalmology services nearer to home as well. The best local services are at the university teaching hospitals. You are looking for cornea, external disease, anterior segment (beware the laser or cataract surgeon, they may or may not be good at this), possibly uveitis inflammation, specialists. If you post up your region, you may get a recommendation by personal message.

I have the same doubt, about astigmatism.
After Lasik in 2005 i had 0.5 astigmatism in right eye and 0.0 on left eye. In september 2010 i went to a doctor and none difference from that was detected.
My dry eyes symptoms began in september 2011. In november 3 i went to a doctor and he said i was still with 0.5 and 0.0. In november 28 i went to another doctor and he said i have 1.0 and 0.5 astigmatism. The next day, november 29, i went to my old doctor (the one i trust, which my last appointment was in 2006), and he said i have 1.5 and 1.00 astigmatism.
