Cataract in sjs+myopia eye
hello dr!
I m in a confusion right now.Let me describe my condition once again.
I have sjs patient for past 20 years.my age is 28 now.Sjs due to sulfa reactions.
My vision has been decreasing day by day due to cataract developed in left eye, the eye which is im using to see.Right eye has finger counting vision(right eye cataract was done in 2000 and was dislocated then only..but was removed in 2007 and doc said satured fixation wont be much helpful so no new iol implanted.). i have myopia in left eye(working eye) and doc has told i must have been myopic from childhood.schimer tests have been getting better recently abt 15 n 17 in both eyes.
In a few weeks time im going to get operated fr cataract in the left eye(eye having sjs + myopia + high photophobia) by dr.ABHAY VASAVDA at city nearby. He has put me on pre operative medication of restasis + loteflam for 1 month.
My question is what complications can occur in this surgery?how risky it can be? If again im in a condition where i cant have IOL fixed in left eye, what am i supposed to do for vision?
there is no literature on google for what would happen to an eye which does not have iol at all!?
Doctor is hpeful for a good outcome but i want to know if anything bad happens where wud i stand?
Really need to be a ROCK to take the pain!
