How much fish oil?
Helo sir,how do you do?Iv been dealing with severe dry eye for 5 months post accutane and was wondering if u thought omega 3 fish oil would help my symtoms?I am currently taking around 3,400 mgs of omega 3 fish oil supplements and have been taking them for 5 weeks but with no benefit as yet.How long do you think it would take for them to kick in(if they kick in).
Also,iv read that omega 6 fish oil can cause inflammation and so,should these be avoided at all costs?
Thanks a lot

Fish oil for dry eyes, combined with green tea and lemon
Anthony sorry for the dealy in reply, been traveling! It all depends on the amount of EPA and DHA and if you are taking an ethel ester form or triglyceride form. I have the best results using a relatively high dosage of triglyceride form fish oil for the first six weeks at about 1800 epa and 1200 dha then tapering back to half that amount. I would advise taking some GLA along with this somwhere around 250 mg of gla then cutting it in half after the six weeks. GLA is an omega 6 and too much can cause inflamation. many experts in inflammtion are now thinking at least a ten to one ratio omega three to omega six is benficial. You have to also practice good lid hygiene, drink plenty of purified water (avoid plastic bottles do to the bisphenols that can leach into the water ) . Take your fish oil with some organic green tea and lemon and you will maximize the anti inflammatory benefits and the anti aging at a cellular level, both omega three fish oil and green tea can slow donw chromasomal aging (shrinkage of the end cap of the chromasome called telemere) , the green tea and the lemon also exhibit anti inflammatory effects. a great synergy!!
