MGD affected by precription drugs?

I was just curious if MGD is affected at all by prescription drugs such as xanax or valium or even pain killers? i sometimes take xanax to sleep-it seems to dry my mouth out but not my eyes. I just want to be sure it doesn't interfere with my oil glands though and MGD. Thanks for your advise!

Yes xanax can make dry eyes and dry mouth worse. The bad thing about xanax is it is a benzodiadepine, this means it is very addicting! VERY addicting. It is used for patients with anxiety disorders and pannic attacks . I would be careful using it for sleep. maybe try some natural sleep methods. Take a warm bath beofre bed, soft music, drink some balck cherry juice and eat some pumkin seeds an hour before bed. Do not exercise tow to three housrs before bed and not food other than the cherry juice and pumpkin seeds three hours before bed. Dr. Mike
