The Crying Game...

one thing that worries me about DES - not a fear worry but a nagging, guilty worry - is all the STUFF that gets used, just to cope. the paper tissues, the cotton wool pads, cotton wool buds, plastic throwaway vials, and so on.
well, i've found one way of re-using some of that STUFF - a second-use for the tissues and cotton wool pads, at least - which only get used for hot water compresses and mopping up tears.
i wring out the cotton wool pads, and leave them to dry. then they go to my studio, for cleaning oil paint off brushes, before washing the brushes. and i use the tissues in the same way, for cleaning off paint, though i also use them for odd bits of housework - cleaning round taps, scooping something off the floor, etc. the once-used eye-dabbing tissues go in a box, and are the first choice for this kind of second-use, thus saving having to use new pieces of kitchen paper, etc.
but i still haven't found a second-use for the plastic vials, though i'm half inclined to stick them all together, and make a sculpture of a weeping figure, called something pretentious like 'vale of Tears' ... or something.![]()
