View Full Version : rebound redness
Hi, i have rebound redness frm over using otc drops for 3` years, the reason i started these was only because i developed conjunctvitis and it didnt go with the doctors drops, instead of going back too the doc, i started using otc drops. Anyway i have stopped cold turkey for 1 month, apart from the red large veins i developed mild dryness, i have used every type of drop not successful with treating dryness, so deciced too stop taking drops, as they seem too be better without. Do u think its ok too leave my eyes and not treat the dryness? I did not have any dryness before using the otc drops, my doc said all things should go back too the way they were??

I would stay away from any drops that states they are used to get the red out! You can become dependent on these drops and ultimatley have to use more and more to eliminate the redness. Your eye care provider needs to see your eyes when they are red to help determine the cause, visine, murine, clear eyes etc... can mask the true problem. I think the best thing for you would be to use unpreserved artificial tears if needed and take a good omega three fish oil supplement. I would follow up with your eye doc and see if you get total resolution?
