Dear Dr Latkany:

i have had 4 smart plugs inserted into my tear ducts. after that, my right eye got less dryness, but then it started to have full feeling n sometimes it caused headache.

at first i thought this was because there is no tear duct to drain my tears, so doctor irrigated the upper tear duct (right eye), but i feel a lot worse since sever dryness came back, and in good days when i my right eye was wet, i still had this full feeling.

my doctor insists that this is due to cornea exposure since i got lid problems(lateral bilateral lower lid ectropion and marked epicanthic folds.lagophthalmos). but the thing is when my right eye feels quite dry, i wouldn't have this full feeling. it only started to be aching when it is not dry.

doctor put a normal plug back into my upper tear duct(right eye) since getting plug out is proved to be not helpful.

currenty its like i have to choose from 2 discomforts, either dryness or full feeling. obviouly dryness is a lot worse, but can't i just find a way to get rid of both of them? what else could cause full feeling apart from corner exposure?

Thank you, Dr Latkany

Ask your Dr to try flow control plugs which are partial plugs (they let some tears through) by Eagle Vision.
