has anyone had the silver nitrate cauterization done on inflammed blood vessels? i did yest and was wondering how long it took to work.. My eye is still pretty irritated.. i went to a new doc and they were not very nice about answering my questions... i go to my reg opthamologist next wed and plan on asking him but was curious if this was something that would take a few weeks to work????

jenny if you could elaborate further on what excatly you had done and the reason for it. From what I know about Silver Nitrate cauterization, it is typically performed on SLK patients and usually takes 2 to 4 weeks for the area to heal. I had considered having it done but decided against it.

ok they kind of said 2 weeks---but they were so short with me! omg. my dad drove me 2hours to get there and .. o well...
the doc just said i had inflammed blood vessels. she tried acuvail and waited 10minutes and i said i didnt feel any better. so she did the silver procedure to my left upper eyelid-its the eye that has been bothering me for over 7 months.i have sjogrens and mgd..
i guess she did to settle down the blood vessels so my eye wont be so dry
what is SLK?
