Eyes feeling really bad again

Hi guys,
So my eyes have been way worse than they have been in a while.....PLUS my skin is terrible. I'm guessing it's largely b/c my hormones are all crazy after going off birth control and not getting back to normal yet.

I was at a work conference all weekend and I was in a lot of pain the first day (got slightly better). I'm pretty nervous about what this means for my future comfort level. What are my next steps? I have a message into my OBGYN and will probably also try to see my eye doc soon too to talk through options. Uggggghhhh -- just feeling crappy and scared.

I had the same reaction when I went off the birth control 2 years ago. Doctor recommended I stop it beacuse he was convinced it was contributing to the irritation in my eyes. It was mild back then and when I stopped it my skin broke out with cystic acne and my eyes felt worse.
My feelings are if the birth control is helping the skin and keeping the inflammation down, then it is sort of helping the meibomian glands as well. You have to wait 3 to 6 months to see if the hormones level off again once you stop birth control.

Thanks for the reply! So did you end going back on birth control? It's so frustrating, and I'm really busy with so many things right now, it's just a blow to the emotional and physical progress I had been making.

I did go back 7 months ago but I am on a lower estrogen birth control than what I was on in the past. It took almost 5 months before my skin calmed down and as far as the eyes go, I believe the meibomian glands improved. At least that is what I am told by the eye doctor.
My dermatologist believes my acne is due to androgen sensitivity and if I can regulate the androgens, then it could help the oil secretions in both the skin and meibomian glands.
