Inflammatory disorder of the iris (coloured part of the eye).

Iritis symptoms include light sensitivity, red eyes, blurred vision, pain, and tearing. Iritis often flares up without an obvious or specific cause. In some people it is associated with connective tissue diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus; it can always be related to things such as eye injuries or eye surgery.
